Where did it all begin?
Arno Laubscher started ScientificFly after being involved in the fly fishing industry on a full time basis since 1994. Most of these years were spent in fly fishing research and development. During these years he has been involved in the development of many fly patterns for the South African, Australian and USA markets and travelled to trade shows in the USA and Australia where he worked closely with the local fly fishers to ensure a good quality product that will satisfy their needs. He started ScientificFly due to his love for product development and helping others to enjoy the sport as much as he does.
ScientificFly is situated in Nelspruit, in the eastern parts of South Africa, close to the well-known Kruger National Park and concentrate on the development of high quality fishing products. It is situated in the middle of great fishing opportunities with trout, yellowfish,
bream, bass and tigerfish, all within one hours drive and great blue water fly-fishing in Mozambique only two hours from Nelspruit. These waters are the testing grounds for all the ScientificFly products. All ScientificFly products are carefully developed and tested to the full potential to insure maximum client satisfaction.
We didn’t start ScientificFly because we are some weekend fly fishers with a couple of contacts and access to some product on the sideline. We have been involved in this industry on a full time basis and we know what this industry is all about. We know what you want, and we know the high demand for quality products and great service. We are prepared to listen to new ideas and consider making them a reality. We are not prepare to sacrifice quality or performance for anything as we are not prepared to put our name on a product that will not deliver the goods.
